What is:- Stenography is probably one of the most recognizable methods of recording the spoken word, as stenographers were a familiar aspect of courtroom for the advanced part of the 19th and 20th centuries. Stenography, in short, is the act of recording spoken words using a shorthand using a stenotype machine.
which is :- The process of writing in shorthand is called stenography from the Greek stenos (narrow) and graphene (for writing). ... A simple shorthand system provides symbols or abbreviations for words and common phrases, allowing someone well-trained in the system to write as soon as people speak.
Job Qualification:-
The candidates must have passed 12th or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
Job Description :-
■ Vacancies will be determined in due course. The position of the updated vacancies will be uploaded from time to time the Commission's website (https://ssc.nic.in> Candidate Corner Temporary vacancy).
■ Vacancies of Stenographer Grade-C6 and Stenographer Grade-D of are in the Ministry /They are affiliated with the Central Government departments / agencies and Subordinate offices located in different States and Union Territories across the country.
Age limit :-
Stenographer Grade „C‟ :- 18 to 30 years from 01.08.2020 Candidates were not born.Eligible for application before 02-08-1990 and not after 01-08-2002.
Stenographer Grade „D‟ :- 18 to 27 years i.e. candidates were not born till 01.08.2020.Eligible for application before 02-08-1993 and after 01-08-2002.

Application Fee process :-
✔️✔️ Fee payable :- Rs.100 /- (one hundred rupees only)
✔️✔️ Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PWD) and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Exemption from payment of fees.
✔️✔️ Fees may be paid through BHM UPI, Net Banking or using Visa, MasterCard, Masterro, Rupee credit or debit card or cash at SBI branch by making SBI invoice.
✔️✔️ Candidates can pay the online fee till 06.11.2020 (23:30 hours). However,Candidates who want to pay through SBI invoice can do so at this time.The designated branches of SBI are paid till 10.11.2020 within the working days of the bank Invoices made by them before 08.11.2020 (23:30 hrs).
✔️✔️ Candidates who have not been exempted from paying the fee must be sure that they have paid the fee Submitted to SSC. => In the online Application Form, candidates are required to upload the scanned colour passport size photograph in JPEG format (20 KB to 50 KB). The photograph should not be more than three months old from the date of publication of the Notice of Examination, and, the date on which the photograph has been taken should be clearly printed on the photograph. Applications without such date printed on the photograph will be rejected. Image dimension of the photograph should be about 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height). The photograph should be without cap, spectacles and both ears should be visible.

Selection process :-
The minimum qualifying marks in computer based test are as follows:
i. URL: 30%
ii. OBC / EWS: 25%
iii. All other categories (SC, ST, PWD, ESM, etc.): 20%

Such candidates will be ranked as opposed to the general / unreserved vacancies in the post as per the overall qualifications or the vacancies allotted for their department,Which is convenient for them. Reserved vacancies will be filled separately From among eligible SC,ST,OBC,EWS, ESM and PWD candidates.
